Authors note: In my Prediction piece I picked this ending because I think that this will fit the story.
Cody then went down to the beach later on that night. Once the sun was almost down he then started walking home. he passed a park. Where two swings were swinging on their own making a creepy creaking noise. Cody then hears these noise of people walking behind them, he turns around, Nothing there. Cody keeps walking home and he hears it again. Turns around. The only thing that cody sees is a knife coming towards him

She Got better (Character)
Authors Note: This is a character development about Katniss in the Hunger Games. This just proves that people can change for the better.
In the book the hunger games Katniss everdeen is a very brave girl. She faces the fact of losing her father at a young age. She then has to take control of the rest of her family because her young sister Prime and mom are very saddened with the loss of their father and or husband. She is a very strong girl because at the reeping of the hunger games her younger sister get picked to be placed in to the hunger games and fight until the last one alive. Katniss is brave enough to stand up and save her sister’s live and volunteer to be in the hunger games. Katniss reminds me of the hollis from “Pictures of Hollis Woods”. I think these two characters act similar because in both books the two girls could not trust anyone. For hollis she couldn’t trust anyone because she never really had a family to trust. For catniss because she was in the hunger games and had to fight for her own life, she couldn’t team up with anyone else in the hunger games because for all she knew they could betray her and kill her.

I think Katniss got stronger by the end of the book because
in the beginning of the hunger games she was worried and more self conceited
but, as the hunger games went on she had to show her true self and how good of
a hunter she really was to fight for her life.

Founding Fathers
Authors Note: Founds father did a lot for us and our country, but there are many things people would as them if they got the chance to. These are the things I would ask. I would also tell them how thankful I am for everything
Am I proud to be living in this country? I can say that I am
but now you have to be truly honest with yourself if you happy where you are
and what there all is for you. The
founding fathers are a big part of this country. If it wasn’t for them we would not have what
we all have now. If I were to talk to them I would ask them a few questions
then tell them how thankful I am to live
in this country.
The main question I would ask them is why they let people
have slaves. Founding fathers were all about wanting to help people while make
their lives better, but the slaves were going to through so much pain and
worry.
If I would ever talk to the founding fathers I would tell
them how much I appreciate to live in this country, knowing that I can wake up, go to bed. Not have to worry about people taking me and doing and making me do bad crime.
I would want to tell them thank you for all of the wonderful
things they have given everyone to do in school, such as all of the new
learning opportunities. They have given us new schools and new teaches. The new teachers are the best part of it, because we can see how other teaches teach with their different techniques to see if theirs helps us better than other teacher's.
I would never consider leaving this country. Leaving this country would be like leaving one big family. Thinking back realizing what the Founding Fathers have done for us is really a great experience to take in. After this I hope you never think of deciding on leaving this beautiful country.

people. She then changes her way of talking to people and how to treat them
nicely. Massie and Cassie then have not as many problems with each other, because

Surgery
I came home from school with fear in my heart know that
tomorrow was the night of my surgery. My mom told me to eat a lot at dinner
because I couldn’t have anything but
water after 10:00 pm. I then went to bed thinking of all the bad things that
could happen such as not making it through the surgery, waking up during
surgery and being in the most pain that could ever have imagined. Surgery can be scary, even for people 80 years
old.
The alarm goes off at 8:00am I woke up and the first thing
that I felt was my stomach drop, because I was so frightened. I then got ready
to go to the oral surgeon as my heart felt like it was in my throat. I came down the stairs as a I saw my grandma
and mom waiting for me to leave. As we were in the car they were both tell me
not to worry, I knew that there was nothing to worry about but I still had
those thoughts in my head from the night before.
I got in to my surgery room and they took all these test, I had so many wires on me I lost count. I knew
that it was time for surgery and that my mom had to leave the room. I then
started to have tears pelt down my face. My mom didn’t want to leave because
she felt bad because I am her “baby girl” and it was my first surgery. They
then made my mom leave as they started to make me breathe in threw my nose and
out through my mouth the “laughing gas”. I started to feel Dizzy. Uncomfortable
but by that time my body was so weak I did not have the strength to tell the doctors
and nurses that I did not feel comfortable. The last thing I remember was have
doctor Wagner stab the IV needle In my body, like someone were to slice a
watermelon in half that is what it felt like to me. They then proceed with the
surgery and of course I didn’t remember anything.
My nurse then came over by me and said “Olivia it is time to
wake up”. I looked at her all confused she told me that I did a great job in
the surgery. I told her that my mouth
felt funny and that there was all this stuff inside. She told me that they were
gauges to stop the bleeding. I asked her if I could take them out and she told
me not to take them out until I got home. She also told me that I had some
stitches inside my mouth.
As I laid there in the chair still waking up my nurse told
me that she was going to take me to the recovery room. As I got up and out of
the chair I was still a little “loopy” so she had to hold on to me to make sure
I didn’t fall and hurt myself. As was
walking down the hall I started to fall asleep again so my nurse told me stay
with us and keep walking because we were almost to the room. I finally made it
to the room and I say down in the chair that was in there.
I waited for my mom to come into my recovery room and come
and pick me up. It took a matter of two minutes. When she came in doctor Wagner
told her everything that happened and it ended up not being what they thought
was in my mouth. After we left the oral surgeon we went to costco to get my prescription.
My mom then bought me a chocolate shake we went home and I fell asleep for the
rest of the day because I was so tired.
In the end I didn’t think that surgery was so bad after all.
You may think it is awful situation which it can be for some people but one your doctor tells you about everything
that is going to happen you suddenly feel a huge weight lifted off of your shoulder.

It is a Sport
Authors Note: when people tell me that my favorite cheer leading is not a sport I try as hard as I can to tell them that it is. If you think, you mind will be thinking after this.
If you are a girl and you want to be in a sport but you don’t like basket ball, softball, soccer, volleyball or any other sports. You should try cheer leading. Cheering leading consist of three sometimes four parts. Cheering, stunting, dancing and sometimes if you go to competition.
In cheer there is stunting. It contains 2 two bases, one back and one flyer. In a stunt group the bases are the people that hold up the flyer. The flyer is the one who is put in the air. The back is the person who is there to catch the flyer if they fall and to lift some of the weight off of the bases so they don’t get tired.
Some tips to be a better at stunting is for the bases to lots of pushups so are strong enough to lift up your flyer. For the backs you should also do pushups because you are lifting some of weight off the bases. A good thing for the flyer to have white cheer shoes with a smooth bottom. You want a smooth bottom so when your bases lift you and are holding you in the air with your feet, you don’t want you bases hands to hurt.
Now you are ready to do a stunt. A stunt that relates to all of the stuff above would be an elevator. First the bases squat down facing each other with their hands at their bellybutton and in a squatting possession. Next the back will grab the flyers hips and count 1-2 and the flyer will jump into the bases hands. Now the back will grab the flyer ankles and count 1-2 again. Now the bases will push they flyer up with their hands ending up right below their chin, but in front not resting on their chest. Now to come down the back will count 1-2 for the last time and the bases with push their flyer up and bring their arms down, they flyer needs to smack her legs and grab the bases shoulders. Now you have successfully completed you stunt.
In cheer you learn more than 50 cheers and you have to remember all of them. When you cheer you want to use a “man voice”. So when you cheer the sound will carry on longer and they can understand you. Also when you cheer there are also movements with you arms. When you do these movements you want it to be sharp and not “noodle arms”. If you don’t do this your coaches will punish you. The punishments can lead to doing pushup or running laps. So when you go to practice you don’t want to mess around and want to get what you need to get done.
Also in cheer you sometimes can go to a competition, I have never been in one but what I know that the competition is tuff. You want to stay loud, keep your smile and for sure not drop your stunts or forget your dance. It is an honor to be at a competition, being there with your friends because on the cheer team you aren’t just friends with a couple people you are friends with everyone, because without them you wouldn’t be where you are.
Some people don’t think that cheer is a sport but I strongly disagree cheer is a sport. People say that just because it isn’t in the Olympics doesn’t make it a sport. Well you know football isn’t either. I hope this changes your mind on whether you like cheer or if you still don’t.

Authors Note: This is a true story and will help you with a
real life situation
My parrot
My dad brought my parrot home over 20 years ago, as just a
little baby. He was so little that my dad had to feed him with a spoon. Later on
in life my mom dad brought home a baby boy from the hospital. Later that same
boy is now 6 years old and now he is not so smart and he puts his finger in the
bird cage. The Bird…Luigi is now 7 years old on year old than Steven. Steven
has his finger in the cage poking the bird and the bird had enough of the
poking and bit his finger nail off. Steven screams with pain. My mom and dad
rushed down stairs and saw a gallon of blood dripping down his finger. Steven
ended up with no finger and 3 band aid. Steven now knows as a 19 year old from experience
not to stick his finger in the bird cage.

The First Day!
Childhood memory-
Authors Note- This is a true story about a little 6 year old girl who is now 12 years old and she is telling her story.
It’s the night before your first day of kindergarten and you are excited. You wake up the next morning and you are nervous, because you don’t know any of the kids that are in your class. You get outside and you are waiting for the school bus to come up your road and pull up at your driveway. Here it comes a big yellow school bus, thinking thank god that my mom is coming on the bus with me for the first day of school. You are trying to find a seat on the bus. My mom finds one by this other mom with a daughter my age. Our moms start talking and then say how about our daughters have a “Play date” Saturday. Me and her both say yes! at the end of the day we are super excited about school and can’t wait for the next day so we can see each other. But before anything we both are really tired and fall asleep right away when we get home.

Symbolism for Secret Room
The Secret room
1. “NAIS, NAZIS, GO AWAY!”
-This helped me because it was in the beginning of the book and it kind of tells me that there is excitement! And to not stop reading because I won’t know what happens otherwise.
2. “The Jewish and Christian children have to be serperated”
-this makes me think that the world was unfair.
3. “My voice was low and thick with anger!”
- This tells me that she was really angry that her voice would change
4. “Her brown eyes were brimming with tears”
- Makes me wonder why Leah is so upset
5. “The Nazis made all these rules and laws about Jews”
- Makes me wonder what rules were made
6. “Leah Dashed away the tears that spilled down her cheeks with the back of one hand”
- Makes me think that she feels bad for her Jewish friend, because she sees what the Nazis are doing to her and her family and the rest of the Jews
7. “There is no safe place in the world for us.”
- Makes me wonder if Annie thinks that the only thing out there is people who hate on Jewish people”
8. “As I read the sign, a sick feeling crept into my stomach”
- Makes me feels bad for Annie

How Was Your Childhood?
You have a mom that takes care and loves you right? Well in the book A Child Called “it” by Dave Pelzer writes a story about his childhood and how it was not the best. He did not have a mother like most kids do. The author of this book is trying to tell a life experience about abuse, and how it is not nice to treat your kids like this. I do not agree with this mother or father in this book at all. In the book the little boy is actually the author of this book.
In the beginning of this book Dave is washing the dishes and his mother is yelling like usual at his two older brothers. Dave’s mother was so upset that she comes into the kitchen and take Dave’s head and slams it on the corner of the kitchen counter. Dave also says that in the book that another discipline is that his mother takes him up into the bathroom and rubs his face up against the mirror. Dave says that his tears we wiped all over the mirror.
In the second chapter Dave says that he actually says that he had some good times. He said that when he was about four or five that his mother had 5 fish tanks and that one of the tanks was just for him. Every summer Dave and his two brothers, mom and dad would go on a camping trip and they would have a lot of fun.
Dave does go to school, and he says that school is his only happy place. In school he has to go the nurse everyday so the nurse can check up on him. The nurse tells Dave to lift up his shirt to see if there were any sorts of marks. The nurse found some new cuts on him and asked if they were from his mother. Dave said no because he was too scared to tell her because then his mother would find out and call him a “bad boy”. Dave ended up telling him that he mother had beaten on him again. The nurse called the principle about Dave’s mother beating him. The principle was very concerned.
When Dave got home and it was just him home alone with his mother, his mother found out that he had told on her about what she does to him. His mother said that she had read about a mother making her kids put their hands on a burning stove as a discipline. Dave then began to worry in fear. His mother then makes him put his hand on a burning stove. Dave said in his book that all he remembers is his mom putting his hand on the
burning stove and that the next thing that he saw was himself laying on the kitchen floor.
This book is very inspiring to kids that read the book who have been abused before. Dave shows that all what happened in his childhood he has put behind him but, has not forgotten about all the pain that he had suffered from. He shows that if you put it behind you, you can get far in life. Like Dave Pelzer did by becoming an Author. Telling his childhood story.

Are You Mature?
Authors note: I can relate to this story because these four girls are all going in to seventh grade, and I can relate because I am in seventh grade.
In this book there are four girls. All just about to start their 6th grade going into 7th grade summer. And all the girls are going to be doing something different. This book will help the people in the world because all these girls are taking new chances with their life and they don’t know if they are going to end up liking their new life, but they just might have to live with it.
The first girl Kristy lives with her mom. And is hoping that her dad will come home to the family. I can see how this is hard for her family, not having you dad home everyday to say good morning, or to say good night honey I love you, sweet dreams. I can see how that is hard but I don’t know exactly how that would feel because I am so use to having my dad around. I think that some girls and guys take advantage of their parents, because they should really think about how much that their mom and dad do for them, our parents are our cooks, nurses, tutors. And we should really thank them for what they give us.
Mary Anne wants to show her parents that she is not a little kid any more. She is going to do this by babysitting the neighbors eight kids. When I read this part in the book I thought that Mary Anne can try to show her parents that she is not the same little girl that she was before. But Mary Anne is only in 7th grade. The author is trying to teach the reader that as you get older in life you can do more things that you couldn’t do before.
Claudia I think has a summer that she feels that will last a long time. She is dealing with this guys that she likes, but he doesn’t like her back. I can see how that is hard because I have liked many guys, that don’t like me and just want to stay friends. Claudia and her “crush” are really good friends. The only reason that he doesn’t want to go any further with the relationship is because he doesn’t want to date her and then if they would break up they wouldn’t be friends. I can see how that can be hard. Because I have dated someone and we were really good friends before we started to date and now we don’t even talk to each other. I kind of wish that we had just stayed friends.
I think that Stacey is going to have the hardest summer out of all her friends. She is leaving new York and is going to be moving to Connecticut. I don’t know how that feels to make lots of friends and then just one day pack up all your bags and leave them. But I do have a friend named Sierra who use to live in Wisconsin but had to move because her mom and dad got divorced, and moved to North Carolina with her mom and I only get to see her once a year in the summer. Maybe twice if I get to see her in winter when she comes for Christmas.
The author is trying to teach a lesson about take chances in life. Because you only live life once, and if you keep doing the same thing in life that you have been doing, you are not going to get anywhere in life.

Bullying is not nice
Authors note: This book has a lot of girl drama, and bullying, I could relate to this because I have been bullied and have girl drama, just like a regular 12 and 13 year old.
Have you ever been bullied every day, how would that make you feel? Massie, the main character doesn’t like to take new chances with her life and except new people in her life. For instance in this book her dad works with a family friend and they have to move in with Massie’s family until the other family finds enough money to buy a house of their own. In the book, The Clique, Lisi Harrison is trying to teach kids about bulling and how it has detrimental effects on kids.
The family that is moving in with Massie’s family they have a daughter that is Massie’s age. Her name is Claire. Massie right from the get go, does not like Claire. Even thought that she has never had like a full out conversation with her. When Massie’s mother asks her to show Claire her room, Massie of course thinks that she is all that. Alright so she shows her the room, and of course Claire is going to ask Massie questions. Her first question is why do you have a mannequin in your room? Massie just says “so I can put my clothes on it, too see how it looks, the mannequin is fit to my size. I get a new one every year. Claire then asks her “why do you need a new one every year? Massie says “because I grow every year. Claire is looking around her room. She sees all these ribbons and trophies for horseback riding, Claire then sees this picture of Massie and four other girls in funny clothes (hopping they were Halloween costumes) and asks “are those your friends? Claire said. Massie said “oh yes, we are best friends, we have been friends for as long as we can remember. Claire then says “perhaps I could become friends with them? Massie says back to her “um I don’t think so, sense we have been friends for a long times, it might be awkward for you. Who does this kind of stuff to a girl that you just met? It is just not nice!
The next morning it is going to be the first day of 7th grade for Massie; Claire is going to be coming to their school too. And Claire thinks that they will be taking the bus so she is waiting by the front door. Claire’s mo m then comes over and says “oh Claire you don’t take the bus, you are to go into the Range Rover, and Massie’s mom is going to take you to school. Massie opens the car door and screams her head off, because she didn’t know that Claire was going to be in the car. Massie told Claire to go and sit in the back of the car because they were going to pick up three of her friends. By the time Massie and her friends we at school they left Claire in the car. Her mom said to Claire to come back and stay by Claire and Massie said no, she didn’t want to be friends with Claire, and told Claire to make friends on her own.
It was first period and Claire walk in to her first class. Sure enough Massie is in her class, and the last person that Claire wants to see is Massie. The teacher tells Claire to sit down right away. After class Massie and her friends meet at the cafĂ© and Claire saw them and right away Massie tell Claire to get away and never to come by her when they are in school, I was very proud of Claire at this moment, because right away Claire says to Massie. “Massie just leave me alone you are such a BRAT!” and just walked away.
This book can teach the reader a lesson on even if you don’t have anyone to back you up because you are new somewhere you always can stand up for yourself.
Picture Essay
Authors note: this pieces shows that these girls are running free, and was easy to write about.
This piece reminds me of the quote "go after your dream" because these two girls remind me of me and my best friend Danielle. I think of her right of way because this picture tells me to go after what ever and it doesn't matter what people thing of you as long as you are happy.

Quote Essay
Authors note: This essay was not that hard for me, because this quote is really cute and easy to write about.
Quote: "It takes a minutes to like someone, and hour to love someone, but a lifetimes to forget someone.
This quotes reminds me of my best friend Danielle. Because when we were in 3rd grade we hated each other. And as 4th grade came, we talked to each other but didn't really hang out with each other. So therefore in 4th grade I liked her but we weren't that close. Then when 5th grade we became good friends, but like usual friends we had fights but in the end of the year I loved having her as a friend. Then in 5th grade summer we hung out and we both knew that we were each others best friends, and we hung out just about everyday. When we were both in 6th grade we were like sisters so therefor I loved her like a sister my mom never gave me. And in 7th grad we are closer that ever, it's hard to break us apart. I hope to be Danielle's "sister" until the day we die.

Moccasins
Authors Note: This essay was kind of hard for me to write, because I really did not have favorite gift, because I got a whole bunch of little things, so there really wasn't much to pick from.
It was December 23,2011 and Olivia's mom was wrapping me to give Olivia, On Christmas eve night. When I was given to Olivia to UN-wrap me, she did and she was really nice about how she opened my box and took me out. Then the next day Olivia was so nice to spray me with water proof spray. I really like Olivia as my owner, I mean she always takes care of me.
Now ever sense Olivia has got me, she doesn't really wear me as much as she use to...all because of those new black boots that her mom had purchased for her at kohl's department store. Hey at least I don't have to sit by them on the shoe rack. I guess I really shouldn't be talking about Olivia's boots because I know that she loves us the same, well at least I think that.

How Do You Feel About Snow?
Authors note: I had a hard time writing this essay. I think it is because snow can be pretty when it here but when we get too much I have just had enough of it.
Do you like snow? I don't, not at all. Why you ask? because once it comes, it take a while for it to leave. When it comes here the weather is much colder. And I everyone wants a white Christmas, but to be honest I would be okay if it only snowed half an inch on Christmas eve, and then it would all melt away and the 26th of December. Yes it can be pretty but it sure is cold.
