How It Is Being Seen

Author’s Note: This song It Will Rain,  by Bruno Mars, tells us that if you love something so much and it decides to leave let it, don't go chasing after that one person you love. Lots of people have been in the place where they lose a person they love. Which is what this song tells us about.

In the chorus of the song It Will Rain the lyris tells us that the girl he had fallen in love with leaves, and before the time she leaves he wanted to let her know that he will do anything to keep her; give up his life for her. The song then says “just like the clouds my eyes will do the same”, meaning that he will be crying for a while until he can get her back due to him being so upset and sad. Until she comes back because he doesn’t go chasing after her.

I have been though a situation in my life where I lost person I loved. She was my best friend. We have been friends for the last five years and have done everything together. I know what this song is saying because it is really hurtful when you lose your best friend or someone you love.

She and I were both so upset we both had holes in our hearts for days, we wanted to work things out but we were both too scared to sit down and talk to each other. Our moms talked and decided it was time for us to see each other to sit down and talk over lunch over Panera.

My mom and I walked in to Panera where I saw my friend getting something to drink and her mom sitting at a table. I then knew what the real reason I was here for; it was to talk to my best friend, Or what I use to call my best friend. When I sat down at the table I was all calm, but when I saw her walk over, I then got butterflies in my stomach, not for excitement, but because I knew it was going to be a relief  to finally get to talk to her as much as I didn’t want to. I didn’t realize how nervous I really got until I felt my palms getting sweaty.

even though that we weren’t friends for a while we noticed that even though the roughest times we can get through anything together.

My story is just like Bruno Mars’ because we both lost something we loved. Mine came back without me chasing after my best friend, unfortunately for Bruno he lost her, but if that’s the way it was suppose to be, let it be.

In the end, just remember that everything happens for a reason. It could be good or, it can be bad. If things are bad just know that it's not over and the good will come out in the end. If it turns out good and be what you wanted, it was always meant to be. But throughout this song it in some way telling us to just always keep your head held high and never give up.

Health comes Always

Authors note: When our class was told we had to do an essay on a theme of a book, the first book I thought of was Perfect because I had just finished the book so it was going to be easy. I then compare Isabel to Perfect to pictures of Hollis woods.

The book Perfect, by Natasha Friend  is a story about a young girl who has a hard life as a middle schooler.  She has a lot of worries, which causes her to do things she knows aren’t good for her, all the while causing her to be sicker and sicker.  Through this story we will see that your health should come before everything else.

Isabel the main character in the book has a younger sister that she has to take care of. I think that Isabel got a parent like figure because she was always taking care of her younger sister. I didn’t think that it was right of her mom to leave all of the responsibility on a eighth grader.

By the end of the book I think that Isabel became a strong independent woman, with the fact of having the loss of her father and her mother being so depressed she couldn’t take care of her own kids, and Isabel getting over the fact that she was not fat and she didn’t need to do what she was doing to herself.

Isabel reminds me of Hollis from Pictures of Hollis Woods. I think this because Hollis is also an independent in the beginning of the book due to the fact that she has never really had a family that she could rely on for any advise and or help. she then expresses her feelings in her art work, which turn out good as a final product. At the end of the book Hollis realizes that she found family that truly does love and care about her.

In the end the two girls were very different but then noticed that the health of them physically and mentally. I think that they were both very strong girls to be able to face what they all had going on in their life. Isabel was putting her sister and her mom before her eating disorder. Hollis was putting the fact that she wanted a new good family that will keep her and not send her away right away, before looking at how she was emotionally feeling. So if you are ever stuck in a bad situation make sure that you look back and see if your health is good as well.
